Goodbye Ming, you'll be missed

On Friday 26th of September the sad news came that Menzies (Ming) Campbell has died. A former Party Leader, Ming was respected across the party for his time leading the party from 2006 to 2007; current Leader Ed Davey hailed him as a dedicated public servant and a true Liberal giant.
He was Member of Parliament for North East Fife from 1987 to 2015. During his time in office he was noted for his principled leadership which was a mark of his morality, courage and wisdom.
After leaving the Commons in the 2015 General Election, he was elevated to the House of Lords as Baron Campbell of Pittenweem, where he served tirelessly for the past 10 years.
As a sportsman (inevitably dubbed "The Flying Scotsman") he represented Great Britain at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He failed to win a medal but went on to captain the British men's team at the 1966 Commonwealth Games in Jamaica. He set a new British 100m record of 10.2 seconds. The record stood until 1972.
We will miss him.
