The Liberal Democrats have chosen the Higham Ferrers-based business-owner Suzanna Austin to fight for Wellingborough constituency in the upcoming General Election.
Suzanna previously stood in Kettering in the 2017 General election and in the 2019 European Elections where the Liberal Democrats finished second in the Wellingborough constituency with 15% of the vote.
Suzanna has lived and worked in the East Midlands for nearly two decades and has a keen understanding of the important local issues – not least within one of the region’s largest sectors as she has worked for pan-European logistics companies. More recently Suzanna has run her own business which has given her an insight into the daily challenges faced by small businesses within the local area. She has also helped to uncover and campaign on the waiting-list scandal at Kettering General Hospital.
“Growing up with a hearing impairment has driven me to campaign strongly on equality and inclusion issues. As well as fighting to stop Brexit I will not cease my battle to understand and remove the different barriers people face”
“I know what it’s like to run a local small business that is dependent on EU trade and services and will continue to work to stop a damaging Brexit. There is no deal better than the one we already have”
